I am very confused about gift registries.
On the one hand, it's "tacky" to tell people about them, because it's like you are fishing for a gift.
On the other hand, when 10 different people have asked you in the past 2 weeks, it's obvious that people want to know.
We're registered at Bed, Bath and Beyond and Target. Nichole is registered at Williams Sonoma. I say that because Aaron could give two hoots about all that kitchen stuff. He just needs a pot and a fork to survive.
And of course, we'd love donations in our name to Indy Pit Crew, Feeding America, Susan G. Komen or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
But really, we just want people to come party in Vegas with us. No gift necessary.

i think we "registered" at amazon. i don't think a single person bought us a gift from amazon (gosh, if i'm forgetting someone, i'm seriously sorry). we did get wedding gifts, but all the stuff that was useful to us, like furniture, was really expensive and we couldn't expect people to buy for us.
the other stuff that we need for life - knives, cuisinart, etc. - we already had because we'd been living together for like six years.
i think registries are an awful hoax on the public propagated by retail chains. buy a couple a gift that's meaningful to them and to you.
and yeah, it's ultra tacky to go around yelling at people HEY BUY ME GIFTS AT SUCH-AND-SUCH. at least, says me.
